The act also provides for the training of teachers and the improvement of school infrastructure. It has significantly impacted the education sector in India, and more children are now attending school than ever before.

The right to Education is a fundamental right for every child in India between the ages of 6 to 14. It is the responsibility of the government to provide free and compulsory education to all children at this age.

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 was enacted to fulfil this responsibility. The act lays down specific norms and standards for schools in terms of infrastructure, teacher-student ratio, curriculum, etc.

To ensure that children receive a quality education. The RTE Act also mandates that private schools reserve 25% of their seats for children from economically and socially weaker sections.

Despite the implementation of the RTE Act, many challenges persist. Lack of infrastructure and qualified teachers in government schools, high dropout rates, and poor quality of education are some of the significant challenges.

The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these challenges. The digital divide has made it difficult for children from economically weaker sections to access online education. The government and civil society organizations need to work together to ensure that every child has access to quality education.

In conclusion, the Right to Education is a crucial right for children in India, and efforts must be made to overcome the challenges and ensure that every child has access to quality education.
